This week has been turning out to be a roller coaster for the two families who are picking up their newly adopted children. The United States Embassy has a new policy where they investigate all new orphanages just to make sure that things are good. We of coarse welcome any look into the work that [...]
Every once in a while we seem to come to a point in our time here where everything that we have had to go through, every challenging day, every bland meal of cabbage and carrots, all somehow fades away and it all seems worth it. This week has been one of those times, the first [...]
This is Bodo, the little boy who Lale picked up yesterday. Lale took this picture just before his mother said goodbye to him for the last time, you can almost feel the pain she is going through by the look on her face. I still can not imagine the immense hole in the hearts of [...]
After 28 long hours of being stuck in the mud and countless stops along the road with car trouble Lale was finally able to get to a phone and call me with the good news. We were able to save one small eight month old boy! I only was able to speak with him for [...]

So, a few months back we get this email from some guy named Seth Bracewell, who we have never heard of…. And he asks us if we want a new website…. Uh yeah?!? We said, half thinking that he was joking. Well, a few months and a ton of work (on his part) later you [...]
Last week we had the head nanny staying at our house for a few days. We spent some time talking to her about the kids and how everyone was doing. She told us that she is concerned about one kid in particular and a couple of others may be sick. We are finding that the [...]
We have gotten emails and comments asking how much a child rescue trip costs so we thought we would follow this up with an amount. It costs 800.00 USD to rent a car for six days, pay for gas and food and lodging. We hope to be able to send Lale out again soon. Jessie
