Tiny T-Shirts….. Lots of them!

February 10, 2010

When we grew from 10 to 21 kids in less than 4 weeks things started to get a bit sparse, the clothes were now all being worn at once with nothing to spare on laundry day. We thought of asking for people back in America to send stuff but the shipping cost to Africa is [...]

Got to love these names!

February 9, 2010

I just looked at the list of names of the 7 new kids we got over the past week and a half and they are the coolest names! I love how African names sound. Here they are… Alima Budo Mago Mussa Sitota Kotsa Labuko

Rescue news

February 8, 2010

Sort of mixed news today… We were able to save one little two year old boy today named Labuko! And although we could not be more excited to be bringing him into the home we were very sad to learn that a few more did not make it. We were apparently a day late for [...]

Sweet 76

February 8, 2010

Wanted to quickly update you on the progress we have made on our march towards finding 76 new $25 monthly supporters.  I just checked and we have a total of 38 people signed up so far!  Not bad huh?   Thank you all who have sacrificed for the cause of saving these kids.  We are [...]

Quiet…

February 7, 2010

Lale has been out in the tribes for the past 2 days and we have still not heard anything…  Normally that is good news because he is working with the elders to ensure that they are in support of our taking the child into the orphanage. We are praying that things go well out there. [...]

Incredible good in a small package

February 7, 2010

One of the primary goals we have here is to help the tribes see that these kids are special and not cursed.  We do not just want to be an orphanage to take children in but instead we want to see children stay in their families and be accepted. We try to do this by [...]

Got a car!

February 6, 2010

A Landcruiser became available last night! Lale was able to shove off early this morning for the tribes. We have faith that these kids will be alive and that their families have not changed their minds. Lale is expecting to be gone for three days as the kids are spread out in many different villages. [...]

Still waiting

February 5, 2010

Another 24 hours has gone by and we still have not found a car to rent. All we can do is hope and pray that something becomes available and that we are not to late for these kids to be saved.    Many of you commented on the last post about gathering donations for the [...]

Please PRAY!

February 4, 2010

A few days ago we received word that there are several families who are hiding out waiting for us to come and pick up their children.  Apparently some people in the village have made the decision that these “mingi” children are no longer allowed to be in the village and either must be killed or [...]

Help is on the way!

February 3, 2010

With the addition of the new children and the new relationships we have made with the government that are opening the doors for more children to come into our orphanage we have been starting to feel overwhelmed and underpowered to handle the daunting tasks ahead of us. We just opened our second location this week [...]
