Random tidbits

February 17, 2010

It seems like the little random bits of information that I need to post on here are starting to pile up, so instead of boring you with days of posts I am going to squish them all together in this one big random mess of information.. Enjoy!

- The video at the top of the page is going to return! I promise. We have a guy working on taking out all the sensitive info and redoing it a bit. We know its annoying to stare at a video telling you that you need a password.. Sorry, its not that you are not special or anything, so don’t take it personally. Keep watching for the new video soon.

- So far we have 45 of our 76 $25 dollar monthly commitments! That means we only need 31 more!!! Woo hoo!

- We are officially on facebook! Check us out and become a fan of the work we are doing here in Africa.

- Still waiting for Lale to return from the tribes and give us the update on the big meeting that happened this past weekend. We are praying that everything went well.

- Been running around like mad trying to find a car to buy with the money we got donated and finally settled on a brand new Landcruiser from the Toyota Dealership in town! We are very excited to have a new car with a warranty so that there are not a ton of upkeep expenses. Its going to take 30-45 days to get here and will not arrive a moment to soon because Lale is likely to be heading back out to get more kids soon. I can’t wait to see the look on Lale’s face when he gets to drive it for the first time! We will be posting pictures of his first drive in the new car for sure.

- The kids are doing wonderful. The adjustment of doubling in size has been smooth and they are all already acting like one big family. Lale is happy with the three new nannies he hired and the kitchen is churning out little bowls of food from morning till night.

- Our kids officially like the Local food better than food from America. They look at us like we are crazy when we want them to eat hot dogs or hamburgers… Although cheese Pizza still holds a special place in their hearts.

  2. GReat update!! I can’t wait until my kids like the local food better than the food they had in Africa…am I asking for too much??
God is good…we can’t wiat to see Lale behind the wheel either. Praise the Lord for the kids and how well they are doing.
    Facebook…here I come!

  3. Thank you for the tidbit updates. It helps to know what is happening because I know on our end (parents in adoption process) that we all feel anxious in some way. Not anxious in a bad way. It’s that anticipation of waiting. It’s like waiting for the best Christmas gift ever and knowing it can’t be opened until a certain day. So every little bit that you post is helpful along with Eric’s FB pictures. And we look forward to pictures with Lale and the landcruiser!!!

  4. How do I sponsor a child from your orphanage?

  5. I don’t think there could ever be any boring information on the work you guys are doing there!
