Help is on the way!

February 3, 2010

With the addition of the new children and the new relationships we have made with the government that are opening the doors for more children to come into our orphanage we have been starting to feel overwhelmed and underpowered to handle the daunting tasks ahead of us. We just opened our second location this week and are already hearing that we will be getting more kids before the week is done, possibly enough kids to fill the second location just a few days after it opened… The plans we have to build a new orphanage are no longer just a distant dream but a desperate necessity.

We were thrilled when Micah and Emily our good friends from America called to let us know that they are heading our way to help make this all happen. They are incredible people and perfect for the task of putting this all together and helping give these kids we are rescuing the life they deserve.

Micah and Emily have three kids and will be moving in with us while we plan for the construction project and working together to make it all come together. We are excited because we will be able to split the tasks up between us and finally be able to get out of “emergency mode” and start planning for the future, something we have been trying to do since we got here. The plan is for them to be on a plane sometime in March, in the mean time they will be selling things in their house and working to raise the monthly support that they need to live on in Africa.

Honestly we could not be more excited about them coming, it’s the perfect boost that we need at the right time to get this project moving forward and keep our spirits up. Please pray for them as they tear their lives apart to move to the other side of the world, It’s not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination and they are going to need all the support they can get to make it happen.

  1. Wow! It’s official news now. Thank you all for supporting this mission to this point and for your continued support. Levi and Jessie assuredly need more hands and we are blessed and sobered by what is happening in Africa and what will become our part in it. Please continue to pray for the children and all of us. BTW we told Levi April and he writes March, do you think he is in a hurry? :)

  2. :) Sooo cool!

  3. lol. awesome. i want to come over there.

  4. That is so amazing. I pray every single day for the work. I have to admit a bit of envy over them coming over. I believe that I will come over eventually, not to live, but to serve short term (maybe a couple of months) that will have to be in God’s timing. I long to be preparing to come now. God bless you guys. You and the children and the tribes are on my heart and mind daily through out my comings and goings.

  5. This is amazing – thank you Micah and emily!
