Swirling

April 19, 2009

Things are swirling and racing around us as we prepare to get our family over to Africa.  The garage sale was a success, thanks in part to many of you who read this blog and came out to support what we are doing (thank you!).  Our tickets are purchased and we have visas in every passport, our walls are starting to look bare and everyone we care about is starting to talk of not having us around and what that will be like. The sadness we feel over leaving good friends behind is masked behind the unknown of our journey.   No doubt about it this is about as major shift a family can go through.   I am grateful for things going as smoothly as they have, our kids are happy and peacefull, full of questions of what life will be like but ready to take it on.  I can’t seem to describe enough of what I saw to satiate their curiosity.  Time…only time will bring understanding.

I had no idea that you were doing any of this!!! I only found out today from Larissa’s blog. I know I had not heard much from Jessie on your blog…but I just assumed you have been busy, as we have. Wow! Aaron and I will for sure be praying. Please keep us updated. This is an amazing journey, I just know that God is going to continue to do amazing things through this!!!

  3. I’m encouraged and convicted by what your family is undertaking. My heart is broken for these children and the mislead tribe that they are coming from. You will are doing an amazing thing–for the children and for their future families. I’m a mom to three ‘rescued’ children–I can’t express the overwhelming gratitude I have for the people who showed compassion on my children and gave them a second chance at life.
I’m passing this story along to as many people as possible and will continue to lift you up in prayer.
